On-page annotations

Marks drawn on the page, not in a table

Ticks, crosses, circles and short remarks go onto the scan itself.

Students see what you would have written in red pen.

How it works

  1. Grade the paper

Annotations are part of grading. There is nothing extra to switch on.

  2. Open the marked sheet

Each page shows ticks, crosses, circles, underlines and remarks where they belong on the scan.

  3. Print or share

Hand back a printed copy or share the link. Tapping a mark shows the question it belongs to.

What goes on the page

  • Ticks for steps that earned marks
  • Crosses where a step is wrong
  • Circles around a missing unit, a sign error or a slip
  • Underlines for the part of an answer a remark refers to
  • Short remarks in the margin, in the language of the paper
  • Tap any mark to see its question and the reason for the score
  • Printable pages and a shareable link for students

Questions

Can I change or remove an annotation?

Yes. Edit the mark or the comment for that question and the sheet updates. You approve every mark before students see anything.

Do the annotations work on photos taken with a phone?

Yes. They are drawn on whatever image you uploaded, a phone photo or a scanned PDF page.

What do students see?

The marked page, the mark for each question and the reason behind it. They open it from the private link you share. Integrity findings are never shown to students.

Can I print the marked sheets?

Yes. Each marked page can be printed or shared as a link, so you can hand papers back the way you always have.
