Internal assessments and exams

The term's answer booklets, graded to your scheme, reviewed where it matters

Upload the scanned booklets for a whole class or a whole year. Each answer is marked against the scheme with a reason, in the conventions your board uses.

You review flagged answers, not every page. Then release results and the class report in one step.

How it works

  1. Upload the booklets

Scan each class as one PDF. Cover pages or roll numbers split the file into booklets and match them to students. Multi-page answers stay together.

  2. Review the flagged marks

Every answer gets a mark and a reason. Answers where the model was unsure, or where the student's method differs from the key, are flagged for you. Review those, not the lot.

  3. Release results and the report

Publish marks to the student portal, export to your records, and read the class report: question-wise averages, the spread, and who needs a conversation.

What it handles

  • Long-answer booklets of ten to forty pages per student
  • Board conventions: step marks, keywords, diagrams and labelled figures
  • Several teachers moderating the same paper with one shared key
  • Marks exported to Excel or your records system
  • Re-evaluation requests from students, approved by the teacher
  • A report per class, per section and per teacher
  • Audit trail: who changed which mark and when

Who uses it

How the review step works

Confidence is tracked per answer. A clean match to the key is marked and moves on. An answer that reaches the right result by a different route, an illegible line, or a mark that sits near a grade boundary is flagged. A teacher reviews the flagged set, which is usually a small fraction of the booklets, and the rest are released with the marks as graded.

Running it across a department

  • One teacher sets the key; the department head approves it before grading starts.
  • Each section is uploaded by its own teacher into the same assignment.
  • Moderation happens on the flagged answers, in one list, with the booklet page beside the mark.
  • The school admin sees usage and progress across all sections.

Questions

Is a 30-page booklet graded as one piece?

Yes. The booklet stays together and each question is located within it, so a question answered across several pages is marked as a whole.

Can several teachers grade the same exam?

Yes. The key is shared, each teacher uploads their section, and moderation happens in one list. The admin sees the whole picture.

Can students ask for re-evaluation?

Yes, from their portal. The request shows the teacher the answer, the mark and the student's note. The teacher decides and the record is kept.

What does a school pay?

Schools start with a free 30-day pilot that includes 200 gradings. After that, the School plan is priced per teacher with a shared allowance, and top-ups cover exam season.
