Quizzes and quiz competitions
Quizzes with a live board, from a Friday class quiz to an inter-school final
Set the questions, the time and the negative marking. Students answer on any device and the leaderboard moves as they submit.
Paper rounds work too: scan the sheets and the scores join the same board.
How it works
Build the rounds
Type the questions or ask for a set on a theme and difficulty. MCQs, one-word answers and picture questions are all fine. Set time per round and negative marking.
Run it live or on paper
Share a link and participants answer on phones or laptops with a timer. For a paper round, scan the sheets afterwards and the scores join the board.
Show the standings
A leaderboard for the hall, private results for each participant, and a report with the questions that split the field.
What it handles
- Class quizzes with instant results
- House or inter-school competitions with several rounds
- Negative marking, time per question or per round
- Question banks on a theme, generated or your own
- Paper rounds scanned and scored into the same board
- A projector-friendly leaderboard
- Certificates and a results PDF after the event
Who uses it
Formats that work
- Friday class quiz: ten MCQs, five minutes, results on the board before the bell.
- House competition: three written rounds on paper, scanned between rounds, standings updated live.
- Inter-school final: a timed online qualifier on phones, then a stage round with the top teams.
Fairness in a timed round
Each participant gets the same questions in a shuffled order, the timer runs on the server, and submissions after the timer are marked late. For written rounds, the marking follows your key so every team is judged the same way.

Questions
How many participants can join a live quiz?
A few hundred on one link is routine. For larger events, run heats as separate quizzes and combine standings in the report.
Can I show the leaderboard on a projector?
Yes. The live board is a full-screen page you can put on the hall screen while participants answer on their own devices.
Can quiz questions have pictures?
Yes. Attach an image to a question, for a map, a diagram or a photograph to identify.
What does a competition cost?
Each participant's submission is one grading. A one-off event is usually covered by a top-up; schools on a plan use their allowance.
