Bulk grading

Scan the stack once, grade the whole class

One PDF of every paper is split by student and matched to your roster.

Papers are graded several at a time, about a minute each.

How it works

  1. Import the batch

Upload one PDF per student, or one PDF for everyone and let it find the cover pages. Printed question-paper pages are skipped.

  2. Check the split

Each student's pages sit on their own strip. Drag any page to a different strip if a scan went astray.

  3. Grade and match

Papers are matched to your roster by roll number, then name. Low-confidence matches wait in a review queue. Failed gradings are refunded.

What it handles

  • One PDF per student, or one PDF for the whole class
  • Cover pages found automatically to split a class file
  • Pages dragged between students in the page organiser
  • Printed question-paper pages skipped, not graded
  • Matching to your roster by roll number first, then name, then close matches
  • A needs-review queue for uncertain matches, with re-match in one click
  • Four papers at a time by default, up to eight, about a minute per paper
  • Up to 20 pages per paper, and failed gradings refunded automatically

Questions

How big a batch can I grade?

The bulk import is built for 100 or more submissions at a time. The limit in practice is your monthly gradings. Each student's paper, up to 20 pages, counts as one grading.

What if the split puts a page with the wrong student?

Open the page organiser and drag the page onto the right student's strip before grading. You can also re-run the match for the whole batch.

Do I need a roster first?

No, but it helps. With a roster, papers are matched by roll number and name. Without one, you can enter students as you go or import a CSV later.

Do I have to accept the marks?

No. Every mark is a draft you approve. Edit any score or comment for free before you share results.
