Essay and writing competitions
Essay entries marked against your brief, ranked with reasons
Set the brief and the rubric: structure, argument, evidence, language. Upload handwritten or typed entries and get a score per criterion with the reason, and a ranked list.
Copied passages and text that reads as machine-written are flagged with the matching lines, so the panel sees it before the prize is announced.
How it works
Set the brief and rubric
Paste the competition prompt and the word limit. Write the criteria with marks: thesis and structure, argument, evidence and examples, language and style. Add what a top entry does.
Upload the entries
Handwritten entries as photos or scans, typed entries as PDFs. Entry numbers keep it anonymous for the judges.
Rank, check, decide
A ranked list with a score and reason per criterion, paragraph-level comments, and an integrity check across entries and against the web. The panel reads the top set and decides.
What it marks
- Essays, letters, speeches, stories and poems against a brief
- Handwritten entries in English and Indian languages
- Structure, argument, evidence, originality and language as separate criteria
- Word limit and off-topic checks
- Copied text between entries or from the web, with quoted matches
- Signals that an entry was machine-written, for the panel to weigh
- A ranked list and a results PDF
Who uses it
A rubric that judges can defend
A writing competition is only as fair as its rubric. Spell out four or five criteria with marks and one line each on what full marks looks like. Proctor AI scores each criterion separately and writes the reason, so when an entrant's teacher asks why their student came fourth, the panel has an answer per line rather than a total.
On AI-written entries
The integrity check reports signals, not verdicts: passages that match other entries or public text, and stylistic markers common in machine-written prose. The panel decides what to do with a flag. For school competitions, many organisers ask for handwritten entries, which the grader reads as well as typed ones.

Questions
Can it mark a poem or a story, not just an essay?
Yes. The rubric decides what is rewarded. For a poem you might score imagery, form, voice and adherence to theme instead of argument and evidence.
Does it handle entries in Hindi or regional languages?
Yes. Handwritten and typed entries in major Indian languages are read and marked, with reasons written in the same language if you ask.
How reliable is the AI-text check?
It is a signal for the panel, shown with the passages that triggered it. It is not proof, and the result is never sent to the entrant automatically.
How are ties handled?
The ranked list shows criterion scores side by side, so the panel can break a tie on the criterion they value most.
