OMR and MCQ sheets
OMR sheets checked from a scan, without the OMR machine
Set the answer key once per paper. Scan the sheets in one PDF, or photograph them. Scores, ranks and the questions most students got wrong come back in minutes.
Ticks in boxes, circled options and letters written in a column are read as well as filled bubbles, so your own printed sheets work too.
How it works
Set the key
Type the answers, paste them from a spreadsheet, or let Proctor AI solve the paper and propose a key you confirm. Set marks per question and negative marking.
Scan the sheets
Any office scanner or a phone will do. Upload the batch as one PDF or a folder of photos. Roll numbers on the sheet match each one to a student.
Scores, ranks and the hard questions
A score per student, a rank list, and a question-wise table showing which options students chose. Export to Excel or share results in the portal.
What it reads
- Printed OMR sheets with filled bubbles
- Your own MCQ answer grids with ticks, circles or written letters
- Mixed papers where MCQs sit next to written answers
- Negative marking, multiple correct options and bonus questions
- Batches of several hundred sheets in one upload
- Question-wise analysis: which wrong option most students chose
- Export to Excel, PDF or the student portal
Who uses it
OMR machines versus reading the scan
A dedicated OMR scanner needs its own printed sheets, its own software and someone to feed it. Reading the scan instead means any sheet you already print works, a phone photo is fine when the scanner is in another building, and MCQs on the same page as written answers are scored in one pass.
| OMR machine | Proctor AI | |
|---|---|---|
| Sheet | Pre-printed OMR only | Any printed grid or OMR sheet |
| Capture | Dedicated scanner | Office scanner or phone |
| Mixed papers | MCQs only | MCQs and written answers together |
| Analysis | Scores | Scores, ranks, question-wise options chosen |
| Cost | Hardware and sheets | One grading per sheet |

Questions
How accurate is it on filled bubbles?
Clear scans score reliably. Where a bubble is half-filled or two options are marked, the sheet is flagged for you to decide rather than scored silently.
Do I need special OMR sheets?
No. Standard OMR sheets work, and so does a grid you print yourself. Keep the roll number field in the same place on every sheet.
Can it handle negative marking?
Yes. Set marks for correct, wrong and unattempted answers per question or for the whole paper.
How many sheets can go in one upload?
Several hundred pages in one PDF is normal. Larger exams can be uploaded per centre or per batch and reported together.
